Service Description
Berg Backstops private lessons are built to help young catchers grow their skills and find their leadership voice in a fun, guided training environment. The goal is simple: learn catching the right way, understand the game, and enjoy getting better. What your child will get from training: Strong receiving foundations and learning to find clean pockets Confident blocking & footwork habits, at their pace Quick, smooth transfers and throws to 2B A real understanding of how catching works and why it matters Built-in game IQ: calling pitches, handling pitchers, and learning situational awareness Leadership growth through communication, responsibility, and confidence behind the plate How we coach it: Clear instruction, no confusion High-energy reps, good challenges A positive environment where learning is encouraged and progress feels earned Room to compete, ask questions, and enjoy the process Focus on growth, leadership, and the craft — without losing the fun Catching is a skill. Leadership is a choice. At Berg Backstops, we train both. How the Time Blocks Work 30-Minute Session — Foundation + Focus: Fast-moving, high-energy reps with one primary goal per day. 3–4 minute quick explanation or visual demo 22–24 minutes of guided reps (receiving, blocks, or transfer/throws) 2–3 leadership or situational cue to finish Best for: younger players or focused skill days 45-Minute Session — Teach + Train + Compete Adds more layers while keeping it fun and challenging. 6–8 minute teaching segment (why we do what we do) 32–35 minutes of skill work with small competitive challenges built in 4–5 minute leadership reset + review Best for: balanced development and deeper understanding 60-Minute Session — Tool Building + Game Understanding Full progression-style training. 8–10 minutes catching classroom (situations, handling pitchers, mindset) 45–48 minutes of alternating skill blocks: receiving → blocking → throwing or transfers live reads, angles, redirects, and double-play-style hand coordination 5–7 minute leadership moment + reflection (becoming the guy who helps the pitcher) Best for: older youth, competitive players, or full skill exposure
Cancellation Policy
Berg Backstops Cancellation Policy At Berg Backstops, we value the time of our athletes, families, and coaches. The following cancellation policy helps ensure fairness and availability for all participants. Lessons • Private and small-group lessons must be canceled or rescheduled at least 24 hours in advance. • Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice may be charged the full lesson fee. • No-shows are not eligible for refunds or credits. Clinics & Camps • Clinic and camp registrations are non-refundable once purchased. • If an athlete is unable to attend due to injury, illness, or unavoidable conflict, Berg Backstops may offer a credit toward a future clinic or camp at its discretion. • Credits are non-transferable, have no cash value, and must be used within the stated validity period. Packages & Multi-Session Offerings • Discounted packages (including multi-session camps) are offered for athletes committing to all sessions. • Package purchases are non-refundable
