About the event
The Berg Backstops Catching Camp is a two-day intensive built around the most demanding position in baseball. Over two days, catchers train the full skill set — stance, receiving, blocking, transfers, footwork, and throwing — inside a system that treats the position as leadership first.
The camp is led by Berg Backstops founder and Lipscomb University Assistant coach Jake Berg, alongside Catchers Collective founder and professional catcher Josh Crouch, who has played in the Detroit Tigers and Los Angeles Angels organizations. Between them, catchers get college-level instruction and a professional's perspective on what the position actually demands at the next level.
This isn't a stand-around clinic. Every rep has a purpose, every athlete gets on video, and every drill builds toward game-like decisions, competition, and the game IQ that turns a good catcher into the leader of the field.
